Innovative companies are always looking at ways of recycling the mountains of old used shipping containers stacked in depots up and down the country. Whilst there is a fair amount of steel involved in their construction the cost of cutting a box up, removing the wooden floor, vents and gaskets then transporting the scrap to a metal recycling yard, in manageable pieces, often outweighs the value of the scrap itself. Entrepreneurs therefore need to find alternative uses for the units or their components in order to make recycling worthwhile and profitable. Container conversions are the obvious answer. Secure steel fencing is another outlet for old used shipping containers. Removing the side panels, reinforcing them and spraying in your chosen colour provides a cheap and easy alternative to conventional fence panels which can be expensive and only available in set sizes.
