This month has seen a large increase in chemical and hazardous goods stores being produced. Standard shipping containers have been specially adapted to hold liquids such as diesel and other chemicals, meeting regulatory requirements and insurance stipulations.
The original container floors are either overlaid with mild steel or aluminium chequer plate, with the addition of bunding plates fitted to the front doors. The other type of conversion is where the original wooden floor is removed and then overlaid with mild steel chequer plate including drainage points. This enables any liquid to be collected in a specially developed bund tank housed in the containers floor structure, which is fitted with the drainage points.
Some of these units have also been fitted out with zone one electrics, including lighting and heating, installed and certified by fully qualified electrical engineers.
Container conversions such as this are used by blue chip companies right down to small businesses and private individuals looking for a secure, bunded storage unit, which is also easily transportable.
As with all of our units these chemical stores can be sprayed in any RAL colour to match company liveries or individual tastes. Vinyl hazard logos can also be fitted as can company logos or health and safety instructions.
